童心中校成功举办总统义工奖介绍交流会
Fine Arts Chinese School hosted an event showcasing the President's Volunteer Award
童心艺术中文学校在2023年3月正式成为美国总统义工奖的认证
Madison Fine Arts Chinese School (MFACS) officially attained accreditation for the President's Volunteer Service Award (PVSA) in March 2023, drawing keen attention from the local Chinese community. In response to the support and inquiries from our youths and parents, the school's Board of Directors conducted an online ZOOM seminar on November 10, 2023, from 7:00-8:00 pm, to provide information about the President's Volunteer Service Award.
参加本次交流会的有童心中校的全体校董和部分班主任老师、所有现任义工助教、热心家长、以及已经提交了助教申请的本地华裔青少年们。
Attending were all members of the Board, selected classroom teachers, all of the current teaching assistants (TAs), enthusiastic parents, and local Chinese-American teenagers who have already submitted TA applications.
会议由杨诺一校务长主持，由黄萍校长和尚清华副校长致辞拉开帷幕。两位校长热诚欢迎更多的优秀青少年们能加入童心中校成为助教小老师。黄校长指出成为助教老师不仅会让青少年们不断进步和成长，也能让中文学校充满活力和希望。尚副校长对现任助教们表示了肯定和鼓励，并对如何成为合格的优秀助教提出具体要求。杨校务长在本次会议中详细介绍了什么是总统义工奖、童心中校获得总统义工奖认证资格的历程，并提供童心中校对外招募助教的具体信息。与会者热情高涨，专心聆听申请步骤和评选标准。
The meeting was hosted by Administrative Director Nuoyi Yang, starting with speeches from Principal Ping Huang and Vice Principal Qinghua Shang. Principal Huang warmly invited more outstanding local teenagers to join MFACS as volunteering assistants, emphasizing that being a TA will not only foster personal growth but also invigorate our school. Vice Principal Shang acknowledged and encouraged all current TAs, and outlined specific requirements on how to qualify for Outstanding Assistants. Director Yang introduced the PVSA and our school’s accreditation journey, and elaborated TA recruiting details. The attendees were enthusiastic and fully engaged, attentively listening to the application procedures and evaluation criteria.
童心中校的优秀助教小老师巫逸凡作为助教队长发言，真诚地介绍了自己在童心做助教老师的心路历程以及申请总统义工奖的意义。他的优秀感言带动了屏幕内热烈的交流。各位现任助教小老师也充满热忱地提出各种问题并分享他们的见解。提交了助教申请的本地青少年家长们也表达了对义工奖的渴望和对社区贡献的关切。本地华人社群的参会者们还表示感谢童心中校举办本次交流会，并感谢各位助教义工们所做出的贡献。
Outstanding Assistant Yifan Wu, as the TA team leader, candidly shared his teaching journey and the significance of applying for the President's Volunteer Service Award at MFACS. His excellent speech sparked lively discussions within the online meeting. The current TAs enthusiastically raised various questions and shared their insights. Parents of aspiring local teenagers who submitted TA applications expressed their desire for contributing to our school and to the community. Attendees from the local Chinese community appreciated our school to present this seminar and the contributions of all of our current TAs.

This successful seminar not only demonstrated MFACS’s commitment to the growth and progress of young Chinese-American teenagers, witnessed the collaborative pursuit of excellence within the Chinese community, but also set a higher and more long-term goal for the President's Volunteer Service Award application.
