2022年新年伊始传喜报！我们童心艺术中文学校的学生涂宇心和姜雅雯参加了由北京国际汉语研究学院主办的《国际汉字创意设计大赛》的活动。此次大赛共有全球十五个国家664名参赛者，金奖1名，银奖5名，铜奖10名及优秀奖共30名获奖者。其中我校涂宇心同学荣获了银奖，也是全美国地区唯一的奖杯获得者。

       At the beginning of the New Year in 2022, our students from Fine Arts Chinese School, Cindy Tu and Nora Jiang, participated in the International Chinese Character Creative Design Competition sponsored by the International Institute of Chinese Studies in Beijing. There were 664 participants from fifteen countries around the world, with only one gold medal, five silver medals, ten bronze medals and a total of 30 winners for excellence. Among them, our student Tu，Cindy won the Silver Award, and was the only trophy winner in the United States.

       涂宇心同学受邀云参加了在北京举办的《国际汉字创意设计大赛闭幕式》，为观众讲解了自己的设计“宇”字的理念：“这是我的中文名字里的一个汉字，我特别喜欢。这个字代表了浩瀚无边，胸怀广阔，而且还有美好、非凡的意思。另外，我想到设计这个汉字，是因为近年来中国的宇宙航天成就非凡，举世瞩目，所以我的设计图上会有宇宙飞船和星球……我为自己是华裔孩子而感到自豪！希望大家喜欢我设计的中文字！”
 

       Tu, Cindy was invited to attend the closing ceremony of the International Chinese Character Creative Design Competition in Beijing and explained his design concept: "This is a Chinese character in my Chinese name, which I especially like. This character represents vastness, broad-mindedness, and it also has a beautiful, extraordinary meaning. In addition, I thought of designing this Chinese character even more because of China's extraordinary achievements in space and spaceflight in recent years, which have attracted worldwide attention, so my design will have spaceships and planets on it ...... I am proud to be a child of Chinese descent! I hope everyone likes the Chinese characters I designed!"

       我们中校的六岁小朋友姜雅雯也非常出色，小小年龄就设计出了汉字＂彩＂的创意作品。雅雯同学的参赛设计说明是：“暖暖的云朵把彩虹从天上送到了大地上，小树苗可开心啦，它和彩虹成为了好朋友。” 雅雯的作品获得了《国际汉字创意设计大赛》的优秀奖。

       Our six year old, Nora Jiang, also did a great job designing the Chinese character "彩" at such a young age. Nora's entry description reads, "The warm clouds sent the rainbow from the sky to the earth, and the sapling was so happy that it became good friends with the rainbow." Nora's entry won the Outstanding Award of the International Chinese Character Creative Design Competition.
