MHS rings in the New Year with vibrant MFACS

  二月十五日龙年初六，一个早春二月的傍晚，由米屯高中（MHS）中文社团主办的迎新年主题活动 在该校活动大厅内进行。这次活动向整个学区展示了丰富多彩的中国春节习俗，包括舞龙、脸绘 、庙会游戏、品鉴中国菜等。现场人头攒动，欢声笑语，热闹非凡！

  On the evening of February 15th, the sixth day of the lunar new year, a vibrant event themed around welcoming the new year was hosted by the Middleton High School (MHS) Chinese Club in the activity hall. This event showcased a rich tapestry of Chinese New Year customs to the entire district, including dragon dancing, face painting, temple fair games, and a taste of Chinese cuisine. The scene was bustling with excitement, laughter, and an atmosphere of festivity!

  我们童心艺术中文学校受邀参展的书法国画展台格外引人注目，成为本次活动的点睛之笔，广受好评。由十位精英老师和助教组成的教师队伍，以现场题字作画的互动方式向人们展示了中国文化的魅力！

  The MFACS calligraphy and painting exhibition booth, which was invited to participate, attracted special attention, serving as the highlight of the event, and receiving widespread praise. A team of ten elite teachers and teaching assistants demonstrated the allure of Chinese culture through interactive calligraphy and painting demonstrations.

  活动中，老师们将红色桌布铺满了五大展台。在中央展台上，几位老师手持着古朴的毛笔，在菱形的红色宣纸上尽情挥洒，书写寓意吉祥的“龙”字和“春”字。这些华美的汉字和老师们优雅的运笔吸引了许多中外友人驻足观看，纷纷表示出对中国书法的浓厚兴趣。

  During the event, our teachers covered five large display tables with red tablecloths. On the central podium, several teachers gracefully wielded ancient brushes, freely expressing themselves on diamond- shaped red rice paper with auspicious characters such as "龙" (dragon) and "春" (spring). These exquisite Chinese characters and the elegant brushwork of the teachers attracted many Chinese and foreign friends to stop and watch, expressing strong interest in Chinese calligraphy.

  在右边的展台上，助教老师们热情地介绍着龙的传说，并解答观众们关于笔墨纸砚的问题。擅长中国画的美术班助教老师们则向观众们展示着一本本精美的国画画册，并当场描绘出生动的“梅兰竹菊”。

  On the right-hand side of the booth, our teaching assistants enthusiastically introduced the legends of the dragon and answered the audience's questions about brushes, ink, rice paper, and inkstones. Meanwhile, teaching assistants skilled in Chinese painting showcased exquisite albums of traditional Chinese paintings and depicted vibrant "梅兰竹菊" (the Four Gentlemen) on the spot.

  再看展台的左边，也有几位老师正站在童心书画的展板前，向观众们介绍如何正确使用毛笔、运笔写字。很多友人是第一次使用毛笔，他们能亲自用毛笔在练习薄上挥毫泼墨，得到老师们的专业指点，感受汉字的魔力和中国书法的魅力，真是太过瘾了！小孩子们更是写得认真专注，玩得不亦乐乎，迟迟不愿离去！

  Turning to the left side of the booth, several teachers stood in front of our calligraphy and painting display boards, explaining to the audience how to use brushes and write Chinese characters. Many friends had their first-time brush trials, practicing strokes on rice paper, receiving professional guidance from our teachers, and experiencing the magic and charm of Chinese calligraphy. Children were particularly focused and enthusiastic, reluctant to leave even after writing, enjoying every moment to the fullest!

  除了书法和国画展示，童心中校还精心准备了中国的传统手工艺品 “新年书签” 作为春节小礼物。老师们现场用毛笔在精美的书签上写下孩子们的中文名。孩子们争先恐后地排起长队，等待这份珍贵的礼物。礼物虽小，却心意满满，让中外友人们感受到了中国文化的独特魅力，也为孩子们带来了一份意义非凡的新年祝福。

  In addition to calligraphy and traditional painting displays, our teachers thoughtfully prepared traditional Chinese handicrafts—New Year bookmarks—as Spring Festival gifts. Teachers inscribed the children's Chinese names on these exquisite bookmarks with brushes. Children eagerly lined up one after another, waiting for this precious gift. Though small, these gifts were full of heartfelt wishes, allowing both Chinese and foreign friends to experience the unique charm of Chinese culture and bringing an extraordinary New Year blessing to the children.

  整个龙年春节活动现场生动活泼，气氛热烈，人气满满！我们童心艺术中文学校以其独特的魅力和丰富多彩的展示，为学区增添了一笔浓墨重彩的中国色，掀起了一股热辣滚烫的中国风！

  The entire Spring Festival celebration of the Dragon Year was lively and vibrant, with a warm atmosphere and bustling crowds! With its unique charm and colorful displays, MFACS added a vibrant splash of Chinese culture to the district, igniting a fervent enthusiasm for Chinese traditions!
