教师感言  Teacher's Remark

国际象棋是一种益智游戏，让孩子们学会动手动脑并懂得遵守纪律和规则，并能不断地运用深层次思考的技巧来帮助学生集中注意力和提高学生的动脑能力。我的学生们在课堂上都很快乐，因为这是非常有意思的课程；在教授象棋的同时，我也能不断的提高和成长，因为这是非常有意义的工作。

Chess is a game that requires a lot brain power, focus, and discipline. Chess players not only need to understand and follow the rules, but they also continue to apply deep thinking skills that help them build their abilities to focus and think creatively. My students really enjoy the class and I continue to grow and improve.

凃宇童老师从2007年开始参加童心中校的国际象棋班学习多年，对国际象棋有浓厚的兴趣，表现出色成绩优异。并且又师从国际象棋大师Alex Betaneli多年，多次参加世界、全美、美中部及威州的各级国际象棋大赛并获得了多项大奖，包括在全美公开赛上荣获了第三名。

Tony Tu started playing chess at Madison Fine Arts Chinese School in 2007 and developed strong interest in chess and has had outstanding performance. He also studied under Alex Betaneli, an international chess master for many years. He has completed in many international, national, regional, and state-level chess tournaments, and have won many awards including placing third at the U.S. Open. 

凃老师也非常热爱象棋教学，2015年开始在爱因斯坦幼儿园教孩子们国际象棋课程，让小朋友们在很短的时间内就喜爱上这个动手又动脑的课程。2017年开始在我们童心艺术中文学校国际象棋班担任助理教练，2018年开始正式成为童心中校国际象棋班的教练。2019年初带领童心中校国际象棋班的学生参加威斯康星州象棋比赛就荣获了团体第二名，象棋班学生们分别获得了各年级组的个人第一名和第二名。

Tony is very passionate about teaching chess. In 2015, he began teaching chess for children at Einstein Preschool. The children loved Tony’s hands-on teaching style. In 2017, he worked as assistant coach for the chess class at Madison Fine Arts Chinese School and became the head coach in 2018. In the Fall of 2019, Tony coached the Fine Arts Chinese School chess team to win the second place in the team category at Wisconsin Scholastic Chess Tournament. Most of the students in his classes won either first or second place in different age group.

凃老师每次课前都会认真备课，准备好教学设备和学习资料，上课时采用寓教于乐的教学方式严谨又有趣，是孩子们喜欢的大哥哥一样的好老师。国际象棋班是以英语教课，不过如有需要，凃老师也可以很好的与学生和家长用中文沟通交流。

Tony carefully prepares a different lesson each week including materials that are needed. With games, activities and puzzles, the lessons are engaging and fun, and the children enjoy spending time with a big brother. The class is taught in English, but if necessary, Tony can communicate in Chinese with students and parents.
